In this book on the Dolomites overlooking Cortina, Enrico Rossaro has managed to pick out the characteristics -- one might almost say the personalities -- of the various mountain groups, thus enriching the literature written about mountains for a wide public, with poetic motifs springing from his intense observation of nature and his imagination. A mountain fascinates at first because of its shape, forms, colors: its most striking aspects.
