Description
Most people today only have a small backyard or garden, or even a courtyard or balcony, rather than the quarter-acre block of times past. This is the first completely Australian book genuinely focused on small garden design. As well as detailing design principles, various garden styles are explored, including international styles such as Japanese, Balinese and French provincial, and formal and informal styles. There is information about choosing garden flooring, wall and lighting an puttying in the finishing touches. Plants are suggested for various locations. Numerous garden case studies are included, each with an indication of the difficulty of creating such a garden, and a look at the design principles employed and problems that needed to be overcome.
