Description
The list of 1543 books readers may want to try, culled from previous What Do I Read Next? collections, are arranged alphabetically by author, then title. The author's name is followed by the book title, publisher, story type (adult, modern, traditional, quest, revenge, chase, etc.), a list of major characters, time period, locale, plot summary, and a list of "other books you might like." The summaries are brief and written with an eye toward roping readers. Beginning with an introduction, a key to story types, and a list of award-winning westerns, this hefty volume concludes with a series of helpful indexes by author, title, character name and description (con-artist, frontiersman, outcast, etc.), story type, time period, geographic setting, and series. These points of access are very useful, especially for readers desperate for one more book about a Wyoming saloon keeper and his single-parent sidekick.
