All interviews were conducted by Chris Simon in Moab, Utah from May 8, 2003 through June 3, 2004.
Description
The Veterans History Project honors our nation's war veterans and those who supported them. This project, created by Congress, is building a lasting legacy of memoirs, recorded interviews, and other documents chronicling the veterans' and other citizens' wartime experiences, and how those experiences affected their lives and America itself. The Veterans History Project pledges to preserve this history for generations to come. Veterans from World War I through the current conflict, and the civilians who supported them, are coming forward to record their personal stories and contribute personal documents for a growing archives at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. The goal is to collect, preserve and share with future generations the stories of all American war veterans. To date, more than 33,000 individuals have submitted stories to the collection at the Library of Congress.
Description
For the Moab, Utah's Veterans History Project the interviewees are mostly long time residents of the area. They discuss topics covering World War II, Korea and the Vietnam wars.
